Dresd Nominated for Best Production Design

We have been nominated for a BAFTA recognised festival award from Underwire Festival. The nomination is for Best Production Design for our work on The Blue Door, a British short-horror film produced by Megan Pugh and Ben Clark, and featuring Gemma Whelan (Game of Thrones, The Crown).

Our Managing Director Lynn McFarlane says ‘The Blue Door was a fantastic opportunity to bring Megan, Ben and Paul’s vision to life in an entirely sustainable way. The whole set was recycled utilising materials that had been reclaimed from a number of film and TV productions, including the foundations of the set. Being able to showcase the recycling of sets in this way was a privilege and hopefully the beginning of a new era for film production.’

The short horror film has attracted attention from independent festivals across the globe and is successfully reaching film industry audiences, recently being awarded Best Mini-Short by Terror in the Bay Film Festival.

If you would like more information about our production design services, please get in touch by emailing enquiries@dresd.co.uk.

The awards will take place on Tuesday 20th November in London. We send our best to the other nominees, wish us luck!
